About Me
I am a University of Akron graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design and a minor degree in Computer Imaging. As long as I can remember I have had a strong passion for art and design. My passion for design has been fueled by my determination for success. I have been working in the Graphic Design field since Spring of 2005 where I was presented the opportunity to create a new brand for Heritage Carpet located in North Canton, Ohio. Even though it was still early in my college career I knew that if I applied my design skills, I would be able to solve the problem at hand. In the following months as my new identity was sent to press and was being applied to vehicles and signs across the state I knew this was my calling. I wanted to be a designer.
In the following months I felt with some design work under my belt that it was time to look for more. This is when I found Engineering Consultants Group located in Akron, Ohio. When I started there, I was mainly used for designing posters, flyers and other graphics for products. After some time I was then presented with another challenge which was to concept and design websites. This was my first time I had ever even thought about the web aspect of what I could do, and I fell in love with web design. I took a class in web design the same semester which mainly focused on how to use Dreamweaver to make a basic html page, but that wasn’t enough for me. I started reading more on what html and Flash can really do and taught myself more than I could have ever imagined.
Following my internship at Engineering Consultants Group, I set out again looking for yet another Graphic Design job. Advertising Tapes was looking for a local designer to put together coupons that were to go on the back of cash register tapes. Upon hiring, I had made the suggestion that they needed to inundate their look and the need for a website. I was then put in charge of creating a visually appealing website for Ad Tapes. Along with prepress work, I was able to exceed their expectation of the company by creating a website while maintaining the usual workload of the coupons on a daily basis.
Upon graduation I felt it was time to take the next step. This is when I found the Health Management Group (HMG) located in Fairlawn, Ohio. HMG is the corporate umbrella company for three major weight loss companies such as Physicians WEIGHT LOSS Centers, Diet Center, and Form You 3. Hired as the lead graphic designer for all three brands my job has been to conceptualize new marketing ideas as well as continue to expand the brands in our current markets. In this incredibly fast paced work place I have continued to exceed my work expectation on a daily basis.
